THE BAND

Nathan Shimek began his musical career a little late for most. Joining his first band at 24, and subsequently in the studio for the first time in his life six months later, it’s been a learn as you go and play catch up as much as possible type of approach for his life in music. Drawing inspiration from classic country, frontier rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and a deep emotion for soul and funk, Nathan’s song writing, singing, and guitar playing all take on a unique style that never seems to sit in one area for too long. After finishing his third album with rock group Glow in the Sun in July 2016, Nathan, with some help, has corralled a trio of musicians for a new project named Shakedown Mountain, and they have begun toiling on new and old music alike, to bring a fresh sound to all around

Mitch Stuart’s creativity is completely built playing by ear mixing several genres throughout his musical career. Mitch has been a gigging musician for many years with multiple projects including The Hooch, Great Soul (both out of San Antonio), and most recently Mighty Craic, and Fool’s Theory (both based out of Austin). From ripping solos to melodic riffs, Stuarts’ abilities allow him to fill out sound with anyone. As an exceptionally skilled guitar player, Mitch has worked on many regional artists’ records, television commercial spots, and two time battle of the band winners and is a member of GRAMMY University music organization. Thrilled to be yet again working with remarkable musicians in a brand new chapter of musical exploits, Shakedown Mountain has great promise to deliver outstanding live performances time and time again.
